Definition and purpose
Cookies are small text files that the websites visited by users send to their terminals, where they are stored before being re-transmitted to the same websites at the next visit. While the cookies of the so-called “third parties” are set by a website other than the one the user is visiting. This is because on each website there may be elements (images, maps, sounds, specific links to web pages of other domains, etc.) that reside on servers other than that of the visited website.
Cookies are used for different purposes: computer authentication, session monitoring, storing information on specific configurations concerning users accessing the server, storing preferences, etc.
The provision of 8th May 2014 of the Guarantor for the Protection of Personal Data identifies two macro-categories of cookies, called “technical” and “profiling” cookies.

“Technical” cookies
These are cookies that are used to browse or provide a service requested by the user. They are not used for other purposes and are normally installed directly by the website Data Controller. Without the use of these cookies, some operations could not be performed or would be more complex and/or less secure, such as, for example, home banking (viewing bank statements, bank transfers, paying bills, etc.), that the cookies, which allow the user to be identified and to maintain the user’s identification within the session, are essential to.

Technical cookies can be further divided into:
Browser or session cookies, which ensure normal browsing and use of the website (allowing the user, for example, to make a purchase or authenticate to access restricted areas);
Analytics cookies, similar to technical cookies when used directly by the website manager to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the website;
Functionality cookies, which allow the user to browse according to a series of selected criteria (for example, the language, the products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided to them.

“Profiling” cookies
These are cookies used to track the user’s internet browsing history and create profiles relating to preferences, habits, choices, etc. With these cookies, advertising messages can be transmitted to the user’s terminal in line with the preferences already shown by the same user while browsing online.

Use of Cookies by this website
This website uses technical browser, analytics and functionality cookies.
Other types of cookies or third-party tools that could use them
Some of the services listed below collect aggregate statistics and may not require user consent or may be managed directly by the Data Controller – depending on what is specified – without the help of third parties.
If among the tools specified below there are services managed by third parties, these could – in addition to what is specified and also without the knowledge of the Data Controller – perform user tracking activities. For detailed information, please refer to the privacy policies of the services listed.

Managing and deleting Cookies
In addition to what is indicated in this document, the user can manage Cookie preferences directly within the browser and prevent – for example – third parties from installing them. Through the browser preferences it is also possible to delete Cookies installed in the past, including those in which the consent for the installation of Cookies by this website is saved. It is important to note that by disabling all Cookies, some features this website may not work as intended. The user can find information on how to manage Cookies in the browser at the following addresses: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari and Microsoft Windows Explorer.
In the case of services provided by third parties, users can also exercise their right to object to tracking by reading the privacy policy of the third party, via the opt out link if explicitly provided or by contacting the third party directly.
Without prejudice to the above, the Data Controller gives the user the possibility of using Your Online Choices. Through this service it is possible to manage the tracking preferences of most advertising tools. The Data Controller therefore advises users to use this resource in addition to the information provided in this document.

Ownership of the Cookie policy
Since the installation of Cookies and other tracking systems operated by third parties through the services used within this site cannot be technically controlled by the Data Controller, any specific reference to Cookies and tracking systems installed by third parties must be considered as approximate. For complete information, please refer to the privacy policy of any third party services listed in this document. Given the objective complexity related to the identification of technologies based on Cookies and their very close integration with the functioning of the web, users should contact the Data Controller if they wish to receive any further information on the use of the Cookies and on any uses of them – for example by third parties – through this site.
